Under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Futaisi, Minister of Transport and Communications and with the presence of His Excellency Dr. Fuad bin Jaafar Alsajwani, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, a number of Excellency agents, some members of the State Council, the Shura Council, the Municipal Council, a number of Sheikhs and invitees as well as a large crowd attended the second marine festival. This festival had many events and heritage paintings that proves the Omani people’s relationship with the sea. His Excellency Ali Bin Abdullah Al-Badi, a member of the Shura Council pointed that this celebration was to confirm marine and historical status of the State of Saham and the keenness of the people of this state in reviving the maritime heritage. The idea of ??the maritime festival is an extended version of the former festival to remind people with some parts of the maritime heritage of Omani people who were able to show that this is a matter of pride to all generations in the past, present and future.
